On December 4, Luis Ernesto Gómez’s work for solo flute, Jayéechi, was premiered by Angel Pérez in Caracas, Venezuela. The work is inspired in the wayúu indigenous group that lives on the border between Venezuela and Colombia. The title refers to a kind of song that is used to narrate the group’s transcendent events and stories.
Federico Núñez participated in the “Nights of the Guitar” International Festival in Santiago, Chile, during the first week of this month. In addition, he was part of the Universidad Nacional de las Artes electroacoustic ensemble that recorded a DVD in Argentina that included his work, Empty Star.
